Be Water In Desert.

My name is Wid Eriksen. I am a professional Parkour/Freerunning athlete, I was born in Tijuana, Mexico, and I have loved movement since I can remember. I began my Parkour training in Veracruz, Mexico. Since I started training in 2004, I struggled to find a clothing style that I felt suited me well for the type of movement I do. In my early days, I would wear the baggy clothing typical of old-school parkour, but I would rip the seams, cut the collars, and make my own sleeves out of scraps of material.

My Freerunning style expresses who I am, and I wanted my clothing to as well. I never wanted to look like other athletes, so I was always looking for brands that made activewear that was comfortable to move in but reflected the distinctiveness of this urban sport. Many brands tried, but never fully captured it. Even nowadays, nothing feels quite right.

Always symmetrical cuts, neck seams that choked me, sleeves so tight that they made movement uncomfortable. I wasn’t even looking for baggy, I was looking for something a little bit loose to make me feel comfortable while performing my movement. Tired of brand logos and designs printed on cheap t-shirts, I decided to buy different clothing pieces and make some alterations. I couldn’t  find something that I felt was “me,” so I decided to create it myself.

WATERINDESERT was born for all of those who had felt that. Although brands now have tried to adapt to different styles, they have always struggled to adapt to Parkour & Movement Fashion, the real street movement.

From jumping roof gaps, to dynamic hand balances, to off-axis flips and kicks, to long days spent outside training, WATERINDESERT creates clothing for urban movement.
